I feel compelled to share this event!
On Tuesday, I had the pleasure of meeting a wonderful 10 year old boy. He was watching one of the world cup games. I asked him why he was not at school and he replied that the school was closed due to exams being held.
We continued to watch the football, while we conversed he shared that he intended to go to one of the top schools in the following year and that he was a keen footballer.
I asked him which world cup team he supported and he said Brazil. I said, “are backing Brazil, just because that’s your dad’s team?” He turned and look at me and said “I don’t have a dad” and slowly turned back to the TV screen.
My heart hurt when he said this…..I’ve never heard anyone say before…”I DON”T HAVE A DAD”!!
Now I don’t know if his father is dead or alive but it got me thinking…..So…
I am pleading with the men out there who have fathered a child(ren), it doesn’t matter how much time has elapsed find your child(ren) and get to know him/her.
Mother’s who are stopping their children’s fathers from having a relationship with their children because you want to punish him, stop it! The kids are suffering.
Men and women with friends of people who have children (Mother or Father) but don’t know them, encourage them to be in their life, so no child has to say ‘ I don’t have a mum or dad.’ if their parent is alive!
Be a part of their lives and become their positive role model and the leader they need in their lives!
Live YOUR Passion!
