We are socialised to have a vision for our careers, businesses but what about the rest of your life.
At BPD we advocate to our clients that you have a vision for your life and then create the business or career that is aligned to the life you want to have.
Give yourself a timeframe 3, 5, 10 years, close your eyes and see your future self, how do you look?
See yourself waking up a day in the future and walk through your ideal day, what time do you get up? Who are you with? What does your home look like? Are you married? Have kids?.
See yourself getting up, getting ready. Who are you having breakfast with? Where are you going after breakfast? Who do you meet during the day? What car are you driving? What do you do during your ideal day? What time do you get home? Who do you spend your evening with? See yourself having dinner with your loved ones and then see yourself ending the day by getting ready for bed with a feeling of complete contentment and joy.
In a workshop, I performed the “ideal day” as a guided meditation and at the end one of the participants stated that she saw a wonderful life ahead of her, but felt she had “over dreamt”, I shared that she had not “over dreamt”, she has merely allowed herself to see what she truly desired and was capable of. For the first time, she got out of her own way!
